Responsibilities:
- Demonstrateexpert knowledge of network fundamentals encompassing network protocols (TCP/IP UDP DNS HTTP/HTTPS etc. server and desktop environments network hardware and software (routers switches load balancers) and network management tools (SNMP Syslog).
- Possess a strong understanding ofNetwork Micro and Application Segmentationprinciples and methodologies based onSecure Data Flows.
- Exhibit asolid understanding of necessary Data Flowsbetween Users and Applications and Application to Application within a complex enterprise environment.
- Be proficient in thecreation and implementation of firewall policiesto allow or deny traffic data flows based on communicated security criteria and business requirements.
- Demonstrate the ability toparse and analyze Firewall log files(Palo Alto preferred) to identify traffic patterns anomalies and validate data flows for rule adaptation or creation.
- Have a comprehensive understanding ofAccess Rules Access Control Lists (ACLs) including source and destination definitions and rule policy enforcement.
- Understandprotocol communication control and response including active and passive ports and their application in defining secure communication for rule creation.
- Possess strongIP Address Subnetting and Management experience including CIDR notation and IP address allocation strategies.
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills with theability to manipulate large amounts of data for analysis using Excel including proficiency in formulas such as vLookup If statements Average Search Pivot Tables Sort and Filters.
- Nice to have:Basic scripting skills usingPython PowerShell or Ansiblefor automation and data manipulation.
- Leverageat least 5 years of strong operational network experience with Firewalls with primary expertise inPalo AltoandIllumio Host Agent.
- Bring10 Years of Industry Experienceworking effectively with crossfunctional teams including security application development and infrastructure teams.
- Possessstrong networking skills withCCNA certification or higherbeing highly desirable.
- Maintain acollaborative attitudeand be a strong team player.
- Demonstrate theability to work effectively with other business units and application teams proactively driving application owners towards successful security implementations.
- Exhibit astrong sense of understanding the big pictureand how various technical components integrate within a larger system.
- Possess astrong ability to multitask prioritize activities effectively and work within deadlinesin a fastpaced environment.
- Beable to provide technical leadershipand guidance to less experienced personnel either individually or as part of a team.
- Possessexcellent communication (verbal and written) writing and interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
- Previous banking experience is a plus demonstrating an understanding of the unique security and compliance requirements within the financial sector.
- Must beable to pass required background check(s).
- Possess aBachelors degree or equivalent work experiencein Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
- Atotal of 15 years of experience in the Information Technology industry with aminimum of 5 years as a Palo Alto consultantor in a similar role focused on Palo Alto firewall management and implementation.
- At least 5 years of strong operational network experience with Firewalls with primary expertise inPalo AltoandIllumio Host Agent.
- 10 Years of Industry Experienceworking effectively with crossfunctional teams.
- Possessstrong networking skills withCCNA certification or higherbeing highly desirable.
- Maintain acollaborative attitude.
- Demonstrate theability to work effectively with other business units and application teamsand drive application owners to success.
- Exhibit astrong sense of understanding the big pictureand how everything comes together.
- Possess astrong ability to multitask prioritize activities and work within deadlines.
- Able toprovide technical leadershipto less experienced personnel either individually or as part of a team.
- Possessexcellent communication writing and interpersonal skills.
