Job Description
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to oversee the Microbiology/Molecular department. Under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager this role provides firstline supervision over technical and operational staff while ensuring the highest standards of laboratory performance quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personnel and staffing oversight for a defined area within the lab.
- Supervise staff technical and professional performance to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Maintain a positive and professional work environment that promotes teamwork.
- Investigate document and resolve problems and complaints effectively.
- Serve as backup support for the Department Manager when needed.
- Perform laboratory test procedures and assist with quality assurance initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with CLIA CAP and other regulatory standards.
- Train and mentor staff oversee competency assessments and support development programs.
- Assist in policy implementation workflow improvements and process optimization.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Bachelors Degree in Compliance with the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act & Amendments (CLIA).
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
- License/Certification: Medical Technologist (MT) or categorical certification ASCP or equivalent.
Shift and Salary:
- Shift: 2nd shift Monday Friday
- Salary: $77937.60 $124696.00 Annual
