Other Conditions: general funds to begin approximately 08/25 pending availability of funds and actual staffing requirements. May be for Leeward CC day evening or weekend offerings on and off campus such as Leeward CC Waianae Moku and local high schools (pending background clearance) grant locations or other satellite campuses. and travel to all Hawaiian Islands.

Duties:

  • Under general supervision teach classes in the following areas: classroom management foundations of inclusion educational psychology student teaching portfolios practicum field experiences; and perform related work as assigned. May include instructional assignments involving distance education.

Related work activities include but are not limited to:

  • designing online curriculum and instruction
  • planning organizing and carrying out instructional and noninstructional assignments including preparing/adapting/revising course objectives
  • assessing student learning outcomes and improving student learning based on assessment data
  • developing academic support mechanisms to ensure student success for diverse groups of students
  • advising mentoring and evaluating students
  • collaborating planning developing and implementing workshops for education students
  • maintaining an approved program of professional selfimprovement
  • assisting in campusrelated student activities
  • participating in faculty or administrative committees community service and professional service
  • collecting data and assisting in the preparation of reports
  • other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: Masters in Education OR Bachelors in Education and 3 years of related work experience.

Minimum qualifications (degrees and credits) must be earned from regionally or nationally accredited postsecondary colleges and universities recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and met by the effective date of appointment.


Desirable Qualifications:

  1. Ph.D. or Ed.D. with a specialization in Education or equivalent.
  2. Five years of teaching experience in career and technical education at the 612 level.
  3. Demonstrated the use of diverse pedagogical strategies.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations in 6 12 educational settings.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work with educational technology.
  6. Demonstrated experience with developing and implementing a grantfunded educational program including oneyear planning and/or Carl D. Perkins Federal funding.
  7. Demonstrated experience with performancebased assessments in career and technical education.
  8. Demonstrated use of effective caring and collaborative teaching practices.
  9. Experience in instructional supervisory or mentorship role with preservice or inservice educators.
  10. Knowledge of standardsbased curriculum and instruction.
  11. Knowledge of CTE career pathways.
  12. Current certification in the applicants CTE field.
  13. Experience with accreditation processes in P20 educational settings.
  14. Demonstrated ability to work in a team.
