We need engineers who can step into this environment and help us build highly distributed systems to support businesses around the world selling on Amazon. You will join a highly technical and entrepreneurial team building applications to disrupt the B2B ecommerce segment. You will participate in the full development cycle endtoend from design implementation and testing to documentation delivery and maintenance. You will evaluate and make decisions around the use of new or existing technologies and tools and youll coach and mentor junior development engineers. We work in an entrepreneurial environment and deliver value incrementally and frequently. We are still in the early stages of development so you will be in on the ground floor. Key job responsibilities
* Lead mentor and develop a team of software engineers
* Engage with multiple Product Program and Engineering teams at Amazon to define strategic roadmap and ship new features
* Ensure consistent delivery of highquality software
* Champion operational technical and process improvements
* Manage and optimize the software development lifecycle
* Represent the team in leadership meetings and drive communication with stakeholders
* Foster an inclusive and diverse team culture which encourages innovation and creativity

* Collaborate with product managers principal engineers for feature definition and delivery
* Manage project timelines and deliverables unblock engineers
* Collaborate with other SDMs towards broader organizational goals and projects
* Stay aware of developments in the container space and upstream community projects
* Contribute to technical designs

3 years of engineering team management experience
7 years of engineering experience
8 years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing certification and livesite operations
Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Experience in communicating with users other technical teams and senior leadership to collect requirements describe software product features technical designs and product strategy
Experience in recruiting hiring mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers
