City of Greeley: Work Live and Play in Greeley: Summary:
The City of Greeley is seeking a Senior Network Administrator to join the Information Technology Department. The Senior Network Administrator will report to the Infrastructure Manager and is responsible for the overall design configuration maintenance and supporting the organizations LANs WANs and intranets. This position will analyze procedures develop action plans and recommend improvements to ensure optimal performance security and scalability of network hardware and software.
Experience Knowledge Skills:
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors degree in information technology or related field.
- Five 5 or more years of related experience performing network administration.
OR
- A combination of related education experience certifications and licensure that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job
AND
Preferred
- Bachelors degree in computer system administration.
- 8 years of related experience performing network administration.
- Network Certificates: CompTIA Network Aruba Networking Certifications CCNA
- Security Certifications.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Experience administrating and supporting Aruba VXLAN Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches Aruba
- Wireless Controller Aruba ClearPass Aruba Access Points Aruba Central NetConductor Ruckus/Brocade Switches Routers and Wireless Access Points. Cradle Point Mobile Routers and Siklu Radios
- Deep understanding of network protocols; TCP/IP MPLS BGP OSPF
- Experience administrating Firewalls Virtual Private Networks Zero Trust Environments.
- Knowledge and experience with CCTV platforms Milestone FUSUS and Verkada camera hardware Axis Bosch as well as specialized LPR cameras.
- Knowledge and experience with network management and logging tools.
- Knowledge of network security concepts; Intrusion detection/prevention systems encryption access control mechanisms.
- Strong network troubleshooting and problemsolving skills
- Strong leadership organization and the ability to manage network implementation projects timelines vendors and project budgets.
- Knowledge and use of Microsoft M365 Microsoft Entra ID.
Essential Functions:
- Configure and implement complex network solutions to meet network performance and reliability requirements for city operations.
- Configure implement monitor and manage perimeter security utilizing next generation firewalls as well as segmentation to protect against unauthorized access data breaches and cyber threats to safeguard network infrastructure and data.
- Configure and implement network connectivity and solutions for critical infrastructure such as traffic operations industrial operations and real time information centers.
- Troubleshoot and support network related issues for city enterprises networks guest networks traffic network and IOT networks.
- Perform dynamic routing including OSPF VRRP and BGP.
- Configure and support city wide wireless network coverage in all city buildings and spaces.
- Configure and maintain network infrastructure components.
- Configure and maintain remote networking infrastructure such as mobile routers P2P wireless connectivity and Siklu radios.
- Analyze and identify bottlenecks and implement adjustment to improve network performance efficiency and reliability.
- Research test and administrate repairs firmware and software upgrades to network hardware.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of the network architecture security policies and procedures.
- Lead and train others on network technologies and security best practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Travel: Approximately 10 flexible local travel required.
Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A.
Work Environment:
- Employee is subject to working alone with groups and/or attending meetings.

- Light to moderate physical effort that includes frequent standing or walking or maintaining arms and hands in the same position for repetitive tasks.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
