Job Description

Assistant Manager: Scanning Winter / Seasonal / Full Time Kirkwood CA

Job Summary:

Kirkwoods Scanning Services Team is looking for a winter seasonal full time Assistant Manager to successfully manage and supervise the scanning team in the 2014/2015 winter season. This is a leadership position directly responsible for the Ticket Scanning department and 20 employees. This position requires a very upbet and outgoing leader who can motivate their team to achieve our mission of the Experience of a Lifetime. This position will start the second to third week of October 2014 and continue through the end of the winter season (late April). We are looking for an organized individual who is positive outgoing has a passion for the outdoors is well disciplined and takes pride in their work.

Additional responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Create a fun and enjoyable work environment by elevating the employee and guest experience;
  • Personalize and elevate the Guest Experience while being scanned the lifts;
  • Personnel management including hiring training scheduling performance reviews counseling and disciplinary actions;
  • Managing payroll by monitoring staffing levels using PeopleSoft and approving break schedules;
  • Prepares a variety of reports regarding operations activities and revenues including accurate inventory commission and payroll reports;
  • Ability to understand all ticket and pass products and the benefits associated with each for the purpose of enforcing Kirkwoods policies;
  • Coordinates staffing schedules and schedule request while being responsible for daytoday efficient staffing levels per the Scanning budget;
  • Enforces company policy in regards to theft of services while remaining discretionary in actions taken;
  • Responsible for tracking employee incentives/commissions given out within the Ticket Scanning department;
  • Provides professional customer service regarding all aspects of Kirkwood Mountain Resort;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people and have the ability to maintain a positive attitude;
  • Ability to establish priorities work independently or within a group and proceed with objectives without supervision;
  • Ability to delegate responsibilities to employees;
  • Performs other related duties as assigned;
  • All employees are to understand and abide by the rules of the mountain and help to ensure the guest know them as well;
  • Recognize existing and potential problems and suggest resolutions;
  • Own Personalize and Elevate the Ticket Scanning Departmentin achieving the Experience of a Lifetime and exceeding expectations in Guest Service!

Requirements:

  • Previous management/supervisor experience;
  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Ability to read write speak and comprehend English language proficiently;
  • Able to lift and carry 25 lbs;
  • Able to work in all weather conditions includingsnow and sunshine;
  • Able to stand for long periods of time.

Preferred skills:

  • 2 years of Guest Service experience;
  • 1 years manager/supervisor experience in high paced work environment;
  • 1years of PointofSale experience or troubleshooting;
  • Skill in customer relations communications and problem solving;
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint).
