Brooks School of Public Policy harnesses the Universitys broad disciplinary excellence in public policy along with its innovative teaching research and engagement programs to solve pressing global challenges. The Opportunity
Jeb E. Brooks Office of Admissions Student Services and Career Management is seeking a dedicated Student Services Coordinator to support student recruitment outreach admissions and student support functions for Brooks undergraduate programs. Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Enrollment and Student Services you will assist with a variety of program administrative duties including:
Providing frontline support for student inquiries via walkins email and phone.
Assisting with marketing efforts admissions processes and program administration.
Scheduling appointments meetings and events.
Managing purchasing needs for departmental and student spaces.
Planning and coordinating studentfocused events such as orientations and professional development workshops.
Handling sensitive and confidential materials while maintaining student records and office documentation.
This is a fulltime 39 hours/week) Contract College position that is based in Ithaca NY. This position follows a 4:1 campustohome hybrid work arrangement. This hybrid work arrangement is subject to change at any time. Work hours are 8am4:30pm Monday through Friday with occasional evening and weekend hours to help with department events.
What You Need
We are seeking a team member who is selfmotivated detail oriented and organized. Additionally you will:
Hold an Associates degree with 2 4 years of relevant experience in an office setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Have strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate with diplomacy and tact with faculty staff and students.
Have strong interpersonal skills to anticipate and assist with the needs of students faculty and staff.
Demonstrate outstanding customer service skills to manage high volume of traffic in a fastpaced office.
Demonstrate ability of maintaining confidentiality to manage highly sensitive confidential material.
Have excellent organizational skills to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously and meet expected deadlines.
Have excellent Outlook calendar skills to oversee and manage complex calendaring and schedules.
Exercise discretion and make judgments independently of direct supervision.
Display strong attention to detail to plan organize and coordinate multiple projects manage events special assignments.
Have previous experience with event planning or project coordination.
Be familiar with managing budgets financial accounts financial transition forms such as voucher travel reimbursements and financial reports.
Be a proactive team member to foster a positive and productive team environment.
Demonstrate experience and knowledge of Microsoft Suite including Word PowerPoint and Excel and other software programs such as Access or SharePoint.
Be available to work Memorial Day weekend to participate in and support commencement activities.
Demonstrate commitment to supporting diversity equity access inclusion and wellbeing.
Have experience working directly with people from diverse racial ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students faculty staff and community members.
If you possess these experiences and skills this may be the role for you! There are a few other qualifications we would view as incredibly helpful in this role to include:
Bachelors degree
Previous experience in a hightraffic student services office
Previous coaching delegating or supervisory experience that will aid in effectively providing guidance and delegation of work responsibilities to student employees who are hired to work in the unit
Prior experience in an academic setting working with students and faculty
Demonstrated experience working with webbased editing tools for website management
Knowledge of and experience working with social media platforms
Prior experience working with Salesforce or other customer relationships management (CRM) system
Experience with Cornell policies and procedures in the areas of purchasing and accounting
Knowledge of Cornell online systems: KFS Dashboards I Want Doc Purchase Order eSHOP Salesforce and Concur
Experience with PeopleSoft and room scheduling software

Rewards and Benefits
This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. Employees typically perform this role
remotely 1 day per week and oncampus 4 days per week. The university reserves the right to modify suspend revoke or terminate the hybrid work arrangement at any time.
This position is based in Ithaca New York. Employees who work remotely may receive
multiple W2 Forms depending on their work location. The New York Convenience of employer guidelines require New York State individual tax reporting and withholding for this position. Additional individual state income tax filings may also be required if working temporarily outside of New York State.
