Job Duties
Western State Hospital is seeking a full time Pharmacist II who will provide pharmaceutical services in a timely and professional manner utilizing the highest standards that departmental resources provide which include medication distribution and monitoring of drug usage; filling and dispensing medications using One Mind EMR/Cerner pharmacy software; supervising of Technicians/Support Staff; and the use of iPack repackaging equipment and BD Pyxis ES Server and Medstation.
The Pharmacist II will also be responsible for packaging as well as verifying technician packaged medication using iPack equipment; drug reviews evaluations projects and clinical Interventions; cooperation and teamwork; and participating in After Hours Pharmacy OnCall Services.

Minimum Qualifications
Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Pharmacist in the Commonwealth of Virginia
B.S Degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy
Prior experience as a pharmacist in a hospital or retail setting
Adhere to state and federal regulations and accreditation standards of the Joint Commission
Knowledge of all medications used within the facility including their use potential side effects and interactions
Ability to communicate information of a technical nature to clinicians
Dispense medication accurately and in a timely manner
Ability to prioritize and work with a systems approach and able to work well as a team member
Additional Considerations
