Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University (ASU) and the School of Computing and Augmented Intelligence (SCAI) seek applicants for a tenuretrack or tenured faculty position in the area of Data Systems. SCAI one of the eight Fulton Schools houses a vibrant Industrial Engineering and Computer Science Engineering research community (learn more at We seek applicants who can enhance our abilities in data systems. Areas of interest include reliable and highperformance data systems for acquiring storing processing and analyzing complex (such as realtime largescale and multimodal) data and data systems research (including applied and theoretical innovations in heterogeneous imprecise and distributed data management and analysis possibly leveraging deployments on the cloud modern hardware or disaggregated infrastructures) that aims to support machine learning AI and big data analytics for converting data into actionable information and knowledge. Candidates with big data application interest in one or more of our key research thrust areas of Health IoT Space Cybersecurity Scientific Discovery and Sustainability are particularly encouraged to apply.
SCAI currently houses multiple ASU Centers including the Center for Assured and Scalable Engineering (CASCADE the Center for Accelerating Operational Efficiency (CAOE the Center for Biocomputing Security and Society (CBSS the Center for Intelligent Distributed Embedded Applications and Systems (IDEAS https://ideasresearchcenter/ the Center for Secure Trusted and Assured Microelectronics (STAM the Center for Cybersecurity and Trusted Foundations (CTF and the ASUMayo Center for Innovative Imaging (AMCII and have a large number of faculty working on a variety of relevant topics.
We search for applicants who will contribute to our academic programs promote transdisciplinary teaching and research and help the university to achieve its aspirations including enabling student success transforming society valuing entrepreneurship and conducting useinspired research. Faculty members in the Fulton Schools are expected to develop an internationally recognized and externally funded research program adopt effective pedagogical practices in the development and delivery of graduate and undergraduate courses advise both undergraduate and graduate student research and projects and undertake service activities.
Appointment will be at the Assistant Associate or Full Professor rank commensurate with the candidates experience and accomplishments beginning August 2025.
