The Saint Josephs Psychology Department is home to a highly productive group of scholars and teachers and the Psychology major is one of the most popular on campus. We are looking for the support of highly qualified capable and experienced adjunct instructors who can staff one or two courses each semester on an as needed basis These courses may be offered weekdays evenings and/or online.Adjunct/affiliate faculty are expected to teach the course(s) they have been assigned prepare course materials and provide support and guidance to students.
Parttime adjunct faculty may instruct one or two courses each semester. Courses available for adjunct staffing are offered during the day and the evening as well as online.
Applicants are expected to have completed a Ph. D. or a Psy. D. in Psychology. Under some circumstances a Master of Science or a Master of Arts degree in Psychology may be acceptable. Under some circumstances an advanced degree in a discipline other than Psychology may be acceptable.
Applicants must have teaching experience.
Preference will be given to candidates who have completed a Ph. D. or Psy. D. in experimental or clinical psychology and have substantial universitylevel teaching experience. Preference will be given to candidates who are flexible in their availability and can teach during the day as opposed to exclusively in the evening or exclusively online.
Duties and responsibilities are:
Teach the course(s) they have been assigned Prepare course materials
Provide support and guidance to students Submit grades
In addition to meeting all scheduled class session adjunct faculty are expected to offer one hour of office hours each week for each course.
