Position Summary:

Position Responsibilities:


The primary responsibility of our instructional coach is to train coach and offer support for teachers in implementing learnerdriven approaches based on the latest education research on best practices through onsite professional development. The instructional coach collaborates with staff to coplan codeliver and individualize instruction for all students in a class; work together creatively to accommodate special needs diversity and educational backgrounds of the students in the class; and overcome instructional challenges constructively. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both English language arts and math instruction. The instructional coach is a hardworking goaloriented and enthusiastic professional with excellent subject knowledge and a sound understanding of the Missouri Learning Standards and Common Core State Standards.

This is a 10month position however it requires 10 extra days throughout the school year mutually scheduled with the principal. There is a $7000.00 stipend paid for the 10 extra days.



Primary Responsibilities:


  • Work with building admin to execute on academic vision and goals
  • Work with building administrators to create quarterly and semester academic goals
  • Collaborate with teachers to identify share and coach best practices for reaching all students including students with disabilities ELL and other specialized needs.
  • Provide educators professional learning opportunities to equip each teacher and school leader with the ability to use formal and informal student data to refine instructional strategies and plan and provide appropriate small group or individualized instruction and interventions.
  • Assist the faculty in the data team process the creation of common formative assessments the ongoing review and refinement of curriculum and learning objectives and the implementation of the response to intervention (RTI) strategies.
  • Help ensure the learning environment is dynamic and conducive to highlevel learning.
  • Support educators with analyzing student performance examining students educational plans and needs and assess students high school college and careerreadiness.
  • Provide teachers and administrators with professional learning on the use of student data including identifying trends and gaps in student mastery of content and how to develop targeted plans to address identified trends and needs.
  • Research lessons articles innovative instructional practices and books in order to assist teachers in designing relevant learning experiences.
  • Attend and participate in school leadership team meetings.
  • Plan assist and implement professional development support digital curriculum implementation and model personalization strategies.
  • Assist educators in making the critical shift to be a facilitator of student learning.
  • Support the creation of personalized learning environments including modeling blended learning approaches and instructional strategies.
  • Provide followup to classroom observations walkthroughs coaching and feedback to staff.
  • Promote the schools educational programs through online resources and social media.
  • Act in a professional and ethical manner at all times and comply with school policies procedures and expectations.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor.
  • All work responsibilities are subject to having performance goals and/or targets established as part of the annual performance planning process or as the result of organizational planning.

    Skills and Qualifications:

    This job requires that the employee be able to: sit stand walk speak hear use hands fingers reach with hands and fingers; bend stoop lift objects of at least ten pounds. May have to intervene in student fights or when students are escalated using MANDT training.

    COMMUNICATION: Maintains communication with teachers other school personnel and parents/guardians to enhance cooperative action which will meet the educational needs of students.

    Provides health services information and counseling in an effective and positive manner to enhance the health and wellness of the school community.

    Completes accident/incident reports for students/staff.

    Compiles data for statistical purposes.

    Maintains confidentiality regarding educational records.


    ORGANIZATION: Must be able to organize and prioritize work in a manner understandable to the leadership team. Maintains a daily log of school/staff visits and documentation.

    Maintains the daily environment of the health office facility and supplies.

    Utilizes existing technology effectively in the performance of duties.

    Performs other related work as required.

    REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and analyze and interpret general professional journals technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports general curriculum and learning theories correspondence and protocols. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators staff parents students and the general public.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and is a standard acceptable level for this environment. Is directly responsible for students and staff safety work output and wellbeing.


    OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional programs; ability to plan and implement lessons based on division and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students peers parents and community; ability to speak clear and concisely in written or oral communication.
