Job Description
PRIMARY DUTY: The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at Northwest Missouri State University is seeking candidates to create a pool of applicants who can serve as Adjunct Faculty in Political Science.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Teach online Introduction to American Government & Politics a General Education course;
- Teach online upper division Political Science courses in Revolutions & Social Movements Criminal Law & Procedure Rights of the Accused American Federalism et. al.;
- Collaborate with campus faculty;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Masters degree in Political Science
Experience: Prior experience in online instruction in Political Science
Skills: Demonstrated innovative teaching methodologies to engage learners; instructional technology skills; interpersonal skills including oral communication and collaboration; committed to a focus on student success
WORKING CONDITIONS: The position entails online instruction in upper division Political Science courses typically ranging from 15 to 30 students. Faculty maintain regular virtual office hours to support students.
EQUIPMENT/MATERIALS USED: Online courses are offered using Canvas Northwests Learning Management System.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to meet essential pedagogical and online classroom functions
