Job Summary The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine has an immediate opening for a Sr. Systems Administrator. Requires a strong diagnostic background in a Microsoft server environment as well as desktop support experience. The environment is about 80 PC and 20 Mac so ample knowledge of both platforms is necessary. Responsibilities include management of department SCCM / MECM servers WSUS server installing and evaluating new software releases patches and system upgrades on department endpoints. Special Instructions Although the position will mostly work on the University of Utah Campus the incumbent will be required to travel on average 23 times a month by automobile to affiliated practice facilities and itinerant clinics throughout Utah to perform job functions. Reliable transportation is required for travel to facilities in Salt Lake City Ogden and Provo. Physical Requirements and Level of Frequency that may be required This position involves work that may exert up to 50 pounds and may require frequent lifting carrying pushing pulling or otherwise moving objects. The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development and the ability to assess data regarding the patients status and provide care as described in the departments policies and procedures manual.
Minimum Qualifications
Require a bachelors degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) and 35 years of experience in the field or in a related area. This position is patientsensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements.
