Controls Technician Night Shift DC Colo Sumner WA
This opportunity is working directly with a missioncritical data center Colo provider. This firm provides data center solutions customfit to the requirements of their clients missioncritical operational facilities. They provide reliability of missioncritical facilities for many of the worlds largest organizations facilities supporting Enterprise Clients. A fully competent Data Center Onsite Controls Technician Applies an intensive and diversified knowledge of complete Controls and Building automation systems platforms such as EPMS (Electrical and Power Monitoring Systems) BAS Systems (Building Automation Systems) or BMS System (Building Monitor Systems) in a data center environment testing and operations. Responsible for programming integration implementation commissioning maintaining and providing emergency support on critical controls systems onsite.

They will troubleshoot install and make upgrades to existing automation systems for power and cooling systems in a live missioncritical environment. They will assist in complete startup commissioning and validation procedures of these systems. They will collaborate with the Electrical and Mechanical Engineering / Design teams Software Development teams Project Managers Construction Contractors Equipment Vendors Field Techs and other Site Operations teams to ensure the reliability proper operations acceptance of new and modified installations automations and software solutions. Applies an intensive and diversified knowledge of complete BMS BAS EPMS coding testing and operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct critical facilities Operations and Maintenance (O&M) program analysis and reporting
  • Work with all vendors to ensure compliance with company guidelines and policies
  • Oversee all change management and controls system upgrades while maintaining 100 uptime on all existing equipment
  • Coordinate with Design/Construction Teams
  • Review commissioning process for new construction and retrofits as it pertains to control processes and SOPS
  • Assess recommend and implement industry best practices into new and existing Critical Environment Programs.
  • Take ownership of all QC / Quality Control of hardware installs
  • Provide feedback to senior management for the continuous improvement of the Critical Environments program
  • Repair and Troubleshoot controls systems and hardware (relays controllers etc)
  • Develop process documentation and training materials
  • Direct and monitor subcontractors (onsite and offsite) including scheduling resource management and coordination of construction and startup services as needed. Construction trades generally include various electrical mechanical and equipment suppliers
  • Install and wire BAS controllers and field devices including low voltage cable terminations
  • Installation Coordination of BAS / HVAC Controls Systems
  • Plan site activities for your team including organize job site materials logistics inventory tools storage and security / access
  • Lead installation teams on daily and weekly meetings
  • Support the development and of additional services through change orders
  • Cutover panels and systems in retrofit projects
  • Develop and Implement Methods of Procedure (MOPs) for site activities
  • Provide input to project team on developing RFIs estimating and takeoffs for proposals
  • Performs commissioning focused design reviews prepares commissioning test procedures and reports coordinates and oversees onsite testing Startup Commissioning and Closeout of BAS / HVAC Controls Systems
  • Assist software lead with prefunctional and functional testing
  • Execute troubleshooting of BAS systems including corrective actions
  • Participate in commissioning efforts with external stakeholders
  • Analyze system operation work with project team to demonstrate system operation and verify consistency with the contracted scope of work
  • Perform QA / QC of BAS and integrated systems using BAS software tools
  • Provide installation inspections and other closeout duties to ensure customer acceptance
  • Provide markups for shop drawings to document asbuilt conditions
  • Communicate regularly with subcontractors project managers clients and commissioning agents on project progress
  • Document and track issues and out of scope efforts
  • Autonomous in daytoday work with being given high level instruction on projects or assignments
  • Discuss with technical support problems related to maintenance or operation of equipment
  • Attend project bid walks engineering surveys BAS audits etc.
  • QA/QC peer reviews for projects which candidate is not the engineer
  • Optimize workflow and deliverables by developing templates standards automations etc.
  • Communicate regularly with internal and external stakeholders subcontractors project managers AEs and commissioning agents on project progress
  • Assist / Develop all project communication and reporting weekly progress reports etc.
