QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors of Science Degree and Certificate in occupational therapy.
- License from state of Michigan to practice occupational therapy.
- Ability to read analyze and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from students staff and parents.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

JOB DESCRIPTION
REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent of Special Populations Diversity Equity and Inclusion
JOB GOAL: To evaluation students to determine their functional levels and identify special needs and to plan and implement therapeutic activities.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works with school team in planning and implementing activities to assist students eligible for special education in benefiting from their educational experience.
- Evaluates students educational needs and uses the findings to develop an Individualized Education Program (IEP).
- Screens and evaluates students to determine special education eligibility and develop IEPs.
- Plans therapy intervention programs to support specific educational activities of students.
- Provides training to appropriate persons to carry out therapy goals in the school setting.
- Arranges for appropriate equipment adaptation fabrication and repair; arranges for appropriate room setup.
- Functions as a team member for METs and IEPs and maintains contact with school family medical personnel and other appropriate agencies.
- Problem solves to meet students everchanging needs.
- Establishes and maintains appropriate records reports and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Administrators.
