The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at The University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City Kansas is seeking a dedicated adult inpatient psychiatrist to join our team providing direct patient care. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes in an inpatient setting at the Strawberry Hill Campus. The Faculty Clinical Track emphasizes professional service in clinical settings.Job Description:
Job Duties Outlined:
- Provide a comprehensive range of therapeutic services such as diagnostic assessments medication management crisis intervention and overall care for adult inpatients with psychiatric disorders.
- Participate in supervision and mentoring psychiatry residents psychology trainees and medical students through didactic lectures and clinical training.
- Participate in clinical call coverage 23 weeknights per month) weekend call coverage (every 46 weeks) continuous quality improvement effort.
- Active involvement in Medical School and Department committees.
- Afternoon outpatient clinic appointments is an optional duty available if desired

Required Qualifications:
Education:
- MD DO or equivalent degree
- Graduate of an ACGMEaccredited Adult Psychiatry Residency program
License/Certification:
- ABPN board certification/board eligibility in Psychiatry
- Eligible for medical licensure in Kansas and Missouri
Preferred Qualifications:
License/Certification:
- 1 3 years of work experience in an academic medical center and providing inpatient psychiatry services
