Trust Officer

Job Overview: Our financial client located in the North Liberty/Cedar Rapids area is seeking to add a new Trust Officer to their team. The Trust Officer is responsible for managing and developing new and existing trust and estate relationships while ensuring quality service and profitable growth. The Trust Officer will focus on administering personal trusts estates and wealth management accounts as well as supporting other Trust and Wealth Management Officers with trust and estate planning for clients.

This is a Direct Hire role.


What you will be doing as a Trust Officer

  • Administer a variety of wealth management accounts including personal trusts estates conservatorships insurance trusts IRAs and charitable trusts in compliance with legal and regulatory guidelines.
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns and regulatory filings for trusts and estates.
  • Collaborate with investment officers to manage client accounts within wealth management portfolios ensuring alignment with investment objectives and cash flow needs.
  • Conduct annual reviews of assigned accounts including investment performance assessments.
  • Ensure accurate tax coding for transactions and support timely tax reporting for clients.
  • Work with clients and their legal and financial advisors to develop or refine estate and financial planning strategies including the review of legal documents such as wills and trusts.
  • Build and maintain relationships with legal accounting and financial professionals in the local market to generate new business opportunities.
  • Partner with bank employees across departments to generate referrals and expand client relationships.
  • Participate in business development initiatives representing the bank in professional associations community organizations and industry events.
  • Promote crossselling opportunities for commercial retail and mortgage banking services within the Trust & Wealth Management division.
  • Contribute to department sales goals by achieving or exceeding personal sales targets.
  • Stay informed on industry trends market changes and regulatory updates related to trust and estate administration.
  • Contribute to the development of strategies to enhance the banks reputation as a leader in trust and estate administration.
  • Assist in the continuous improvement of departmental processes and services to provide exceptional client experience.
Skills you ideally bring to the table as a Trust Officer
  • Juris Doctorate (J.D. required.
  • Experience in personal banking wealth management or trust and estate administration is preferred but not required.
  • Must sign a noncompete agreement.
