Role:
The salary for this position is based on the Grayson CollegeFaculty Salary Scale Dental Vision Life Short & Longterm disability insurances available
- 45 Provides instruction in classroom laboratory and clinical settings as assigned. Maintains academic standards as established by the college and the Associate Degree Nursing Program.
- 10 Holds office hours as directed and provides assistance and academic advising to students outside of class.
- 10 Coordinates clinical experiences and maintains collegial attitude with outside entities such as clinical sites.
- 5 Participates in professional development and stays current in both the professional field and in current teaching/learning best practices.
- 5 Assists in budget planning and selection of textbooks and other teaching aids.
- 5 Serves on college committees and task forces as requested.
- 5 Complies with the faculty responsibilities as outlined in the Faculty Handbook and the Colleges Policy and Procedure Manual.
- 5 Participates in recruitment and registration of nursing students.
- 5 Participates in the development implementation and evaluation of the nursing curriculum.
- 5 Performs other duties as assigned by the ADN Program Director.
- Demonstrates the Viking Values of balance clarity gratitude service teamwork and trust.
- Creates and maintains collegial relationships with students faculty staff and community members.
- Provides leadership and models positive and professional behavior for students.
- Represents Grayson College well; serves as an ambassador for the college in the community.
- Complies with all federal and state laws and regulations relating to higher education and Grayson College Associate Degree Nursing policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates strong commitment to implementing student engagement within curriculum.
- Experience: Minimum of three years of current professional clinical nursing experience. Teaching experience in an Associate Degree Nursing Program is desired.
- Education: Master of Science in Nursing or with major in Nursing preferred. Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Texas.
- Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy tact and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the college for purposes of giving or obtaining information building relationships or soliciting cooperation. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to lead both faculty and students to achieve goals. Team player.
- Other Skills: Highly organized and able to handle multiple assignments. Strong computer skills. Ability to handle multiple assignments.
- Physical Requirements: Most of the duties of this position require extended periods of time behind a desk or in front of a classroom.
Must be able to meet the physical requirements designated by the clinical up to 50 pounds. - Work Environment: A classroom environment. This position may require moderate travel to clinical class sites. Employees may be required to use personal protective equipment such as masks coats gowns boots goggles gloves or shields.
This position is considered a security sensitive position and will require a criminal background check.
