For placement in lecturer applicant pool beginning Fall 2024 & Spring 2025 semesters andSummer 2025 sessions. Positions are parttime temporary nontenure and contingent upon course offerings sufficient student enrollment position clearance and availability of funds. Under general supervision design deliver and assess instruction in terms of student learning outcomes; teach assigned courses in the undergraduate and/or graduate nursing program in specific fields which includes but not limited to medicalsurgical/acute care maternal and child health womens health adult health and/or community/ambulatory settings; develop and/or update course content and materials; use teaching strategies to meet the colleges diverse students learning needs; submit annual selfassessment; mentor and assist students; complete grades on a timely basis; attend faculty meetings and other duties that the supervisor assigns.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university with a minimum of three 3 years of fulltime nursing experience in the area of teaching responsibility.
  • For teaching BS Programs If a bachelors degree in nursing is the highest degree obtained from an accredited college or university at least three 3 years of nursing experience in their area(s) of teaching responsibility.Hawaii Administrative Rules Ch 1689
  • Current unrestricted RN License to practice in Hawaii (APRN License is required for position(s) supervising nurse practitioner students);
  • Engaged in professional practice on a unit with a similar patient population and level of patient acuity to the unit where they will be assigned for the purpose of supervising nursing students;
  • Demonstrated ability to teach effectively and to direct group discussion;
  • Demonstrated ability to provide clinical supervision to nursing students.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Previous experience with higher education nursing curriculum.
  • Previous teaching experience with undergraduate and/or graduate nursing students including didactic and clinical courses.
