SignOn Bonus for Bilingual Applicants: $1500 (Distributed in 3 parts: $500 after 30 days $500 after 6 months and $500 after 12 months of employment)

The Staff Accountant works closely with the Accounting Manager to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records and reports. This position primarily focuses on performing assigned general ledger tasks assisting in monthend closing processes supporting the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements. The Staff Accountant ensures compliance with company policies handles various reconciliations and supports audits and other financial reporting tasks as needed.

We are seeking a bilingual Staff Accountant who is fluent in one or more of BHSDs five threshold languages: English Chinese Spanish Tagalog and Vietnamese. The ideal candidate will have a passion for serving diverse communities excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver culturally competent services.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to the following.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform general ledger tasks including preparing and posting journal entries maintaining GL account reconciliations and ensuring the accuracy of financial records.
  • Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts such as cash prepaid expenses fixed assets and accruals.
  • Prepare and maintain schedules for recurring journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to resolve accounting issues and improve processes.
  • Assist in monthend and yearend closing processes supporting timely and accurate preparation of financial statements.
  • Assist the Accounting Manager in preparing financial reports variance analysis and adhoc financial reports.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing supporting documentation and explanations as required.
  • Provide backup support for Accounts Payable and Payroll functions including data entry processing payments and responding to inquiries as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager or CFO.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in accounting Finance or related field.
  • 5 years of experience in accounting roles Experience with accounts receivable accounts payable and general ledger functions.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices with the ability to apply them effectively in a nonprofit environment.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with team members at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities in a fastpaced environment.
