Job Description
High School Math TeacherDescription: The Graham School is looking for a High School Math Teacher for theschool year. The Graham School has a particular mission to urban students in Central Ohio preparing them for lifelong learning and informed citizenship through realworld experiences and rigorous academics. Fostering ownership and responsibility for their education prepares our students to be successful in college the workplace and other endeavors they undertake upon leaving The Graham classroom teacher is responsible for the education of each student in his or her class and is responsible for working with students parents and other teachers and staff towards achieving the mission and goals of The Graham School. The Graham School Vision The vision that formed and fuels TGS is a school that:Treats all students humanely and the urban community of the human spirit via concerned and positive ways mature wise adults interact with teenagers and serve as role models for students to become more thoughtful inquisitive people particularly in core literacy areas including: science; math; the arts; communication through literature writing and oral presentation; technology; social studies; languages and cultural studies; and community the need for students to establish their own independence while at the same time developing in them a sense of commitment to their a place where adults working at the school always exhibit respect toward students and other more about our program! Overview:As a graduation requirement Math courses prepare students for grade level literacy critical reading and writing engaging and creative work creation. Responsible for teaching a full course load (three blocked periods with one prep period daily) of Math courses. Develops syllabus grading expectations course sequence title and all course details in conjunction with the building leadership department and counseling a caring and nurturing classroom environment where all students can contribute to the community learn express questions/concerns/thoughts and deepen their growth as a lifelong learner. Follow building guidance regarding parental communication classroom management norms and PBIS the building leadership and grade level teams write implement and evaluate Crew lessons. Develop your Crew class culture such that the schools mission vision and core values are reflected. Staff members often have additional responsibilities and duties to help the school function safely and effectively. This is at the discretion of the building leadership team and is fairly shared across the instructional members will utilize many digital platforms to further their work communicate with stakeholders inform students of grades etc. An ideal candidate is someone who:Is a selfstarter interested in working in a fastpaced school environment that requires flexible rolesWorks well with the rest of the academic and support team for the success of all studentsHas a growth mindsetHas demonstrated strong classroom and time management skillsUnderstands that family involvement is integral to student successIs organized and has tools to help students organize their academic and experiential workIs committed to meeting the needs of every child in a diverse populationIs willing to participate in professional developmentMinimum Qualifications:Bachelors DegreeValid Ohio Educator License related to teaching areaPass BCI and FBI background checkPass Educator Licensure conduct review Compensation: Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience and education.
