Job Description

Kepler is on an audacious mission to deliver Internet connectivity to space creating the infrastructure to support the rapidly increasing data needs of the space economy. With 23 satellites launched to date and our optical constellation on the horizon our ambition is to improve access to spacegenerated data whether in LEO MEO GEO or beyond! Kepler is hard at work innovating and continuing to grow and expand our most important asset the Team!

We are on the hunt for a talented Electrical Architect with a passion for emerging space technology and a desire to join Keplers electrical engineering team. Here is a little more detail on what you can expect to work on:

Responsibilities:

    • Own the endtoend electrical architecture for satellite systems and other spacecraft buses as required
    • Establish requirements for the electrical system including flow down from mission objectives
    • Interface and guide the subsystem teams with respect to the needs of the overall system
    • Represent the electrical system to the systems/program teams
    • Lead the electrical aspects of critical reviews (PDR CDR etc)
    • Lead and evaluate trade studies
    • Interface with customers with respect to spacecraft bus design and represent Keplers electrical systems.
    • Present and defend the choices Kepler has made to external stakeholders
    • Establish requirements for and Evaluate COTS space subsystems and components..
    • Assist in sizing of project teams and associated efforts for internal and external projects/programs
    • Assist in the establishment of internal electrical design processes and procedures
    • Assist in the debugging of system level electrical issues.
    • Mentor and train intermediate to senior electrical designers/engineers
    • Lead and participate in electrical design reviews (schematics layout)

Required Qualifications & Experience:

    • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field.
    • 10 years of electrical hardware design experience
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to create professional design standards and thorough design documentation
    • Experience leading complex technical projects from start to finish
    • Experience with designing electrical hardware for the space environment

Bonus Points:

    • Strong understanding of designing radhard electrical systems for spaceflight
    • Experience with resource forecasting and assisting with program bidding
    • Usage of AItools
