Main Purpose of Job
A Benefits Training Coordinator I will assist in the development of a scalable training program internally for the Employee Benefits Specialist series as well as externally for the Agency Benefit Coordinators throughout the State. This role will encompass multiple levels of training for staff in particular internal staff within the continued evaluation of processing Benefit events and the use of Workday.
POSITION DUTIES
Assists with all aspects of Open Enrollment to include but not exclusivelyto the following: planning reporting setting agendas interacting withcarriers as well as internal stakeholders.
Strong focus will be required withassistance on communication strategy development to include crafting anddelivering messages to various audiences in various formats to include printemail PowerPoint inperson etc.
Assists EBD in the researching and drafts of program related policies aswell as assists in the development presenting and disseminatingcommunications on program policies and other key benefit initiatives to awide and varied audience. This would include participatingmembers/entities vendors Executive staff and others.
Participates in procurement and contract management activities which mayinclude assisting with requirements gathering reviewing procurementdocuments serving on committees evaluation of proposals and reportingnoncompliance issues.
Participate in specified projects as a resource and subject matter expert asrequired within EBD. This could involve using Benefit knowledge skillsDVA project various integration projects etc.
Assists in the development implementation and delivery of trainingprograms that are internally for the Employee Benefits Specialist series aswell as externally for the Agency Benefits Coordinators. This willencompass initial training and testing as well as followup andrecertification on an annual basis.
Assists with training for all Satellite agencies as well as internal EBSemployees in the use of the Satellite portal for all HR and enrollmentactivities.
Work with Shared Services in the utilization of Workday Learning and guide all users on Workday Learning as well as any newtraining a subject matter expert in order to advise EBD staff and ABCs on the complex Workday Event issues and incorporate that information into theoverall training strategy.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience:Six years of administrative staff or professional work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelors degreefrom an accredited college or university and two years of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Masters degree from an accredited college or universityfor five years ofthe requiredexperience.
may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules regulations policy procedures and processes or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a yearforyear basis for the required experience.
SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS
One year of experience in benefits work in a health benefits environment.
One year of experience in a Trainer or Assistant Trainer capacity.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Strong preference will be given to the following:
Experience utilizing technology to engage key training audiences.
Experience with presentation software to include Power Point video production ADA accessibility document production Adobe InDesign etc.
HR Generalist with HRIS experience.
Formal writing ability or communications background.
LICENSES REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operators license valid in the State of Maryland.
