This is an openexamination. To be eligible for the position under this examination all applicants must be U.S. citizens or have a valid permanent resident card. Applicants MUSTsubmit a copy of their valid drivers license college transcripts and detailed resume to qualify.
Position Summary:
An Environmental Health Specialist I (EHS I) provides specialized consultation and technical services in the field of environmental health science including education inspections evaluations and enforcement to promote public health and prevent disease. The individual collaborates with internal and external partners under the direct supervision of a Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS). The EHS I is an intraining position with initial heavy supervision and peer support for work tasks. Once the individual is able to perform the work independently and has obtained a Registered Environmental Health Specialist license through the State of Ohio they may be eligible for promotion to EHS II. The assigned work tasks progressively increase in complexity until the individual is able to perform independently with some supervision. Repeating an Exam
Per OAC Rule 123: 1901 an applicant who has competed in a civil service examination cannot repeat that examination or take and examination for the same classification withinFOUR MONTHSfrom the date of original examination unless an alternative form of examination is given or unless other standards are specified in the examination announcement.
RATING
Your name will be placed on a list of eligible candidates upon receiving a passing score. Once the list has been established your name will remain on the list for a period of one 1 year.
