AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS)
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design planning delivery and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words were the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers storage networking power and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain and were looking for talented people who want to help.
Youll join a diverse team of software hardware and network engineers supply chain specialists security experts operations managers and other vital roles. Youll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. Key job responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Senior Technical Infrastructure Program Manager who will be responsible for leading multiple simultaneous networking programs in a highly crossfunctional environment which includes internal customers network engineering network deployment and operations teams as well as external vendors. You must have a proven track record of project completion that is on time and within budget be able to establish trust with a variety of stakeholders and customers manage capital budgets eliminate nonvalueadd activity and find creative ways to accelerate project delivery.
You will be an exceptional communicator able to discuss technical concepts identify project implementation issues and work with highly technical teams to remove barriers to project success. At some point in your career you likely occupied a networking engineering position so that you have the technical depth to visualise how network solutions fit together know how to deliver safely into production environments and are able to command the intellectual respect of the engineers you work with. Experience working with large scale networks and network automation and provisioning systems is a distinct advantage.
As well as your technical capability in program management you will have a strong sense of helping people succeed together with friendliness respect and integrity while dealing with ambiguity with grace and maturity. And of course you will always be focused on delivering the best outcomes for your customers helping Amazons mission to be Earths most customercentric company.
This role will own endtoend delivery of large and ambiguous programs to deliver networking capabilities for our partners. You will lead a matrix team across multiple organizations and executives to plan design present and implement these solutions. This is a high visibility and high impact role.
* Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or relevant degree/experience
* Extensive combined network engineering and program management experience
* Able to be strategic but also able to drive tactics and ; willing to get your hands dirty and get the job done
* Experience leading in the delivery of large complex technical programs
* Deep expertise of networking technologies and data centres
* Exceptional communication abilities with technical and nontechnical audiences both verbal and written including longform business writing on complex topics
* Must be able to define program goals and roadmaps based on customer needs and strategic direction and ensure that committed projects are delivered on schedule by the relevant team members
* Significant project management experience including the following disciplines: scope scheduling budget quality along with risk and critical path management
