Essential Job Duties
- Implement the middle school guidance curriculum through the delivery of classroom units and infusion in content areas.
- Guide individuals and groups of students through the development of educational plans.
- Counsel individuals and small groups of students with problems.
- Consult with teachers staff and parents regarding the developmental needs of students.
- Refer students with problems to appropriate program specialists or community agencies.
- Participate in coordinate and conduct activities that contribute to the effective operation of the counseling program and school.
- Participate in and facilitate the intervention team process.
- Plan and evaluate the building counseling program.
- Works collaboratively with other counselors and counseling staff; and works cooperatively with other school and district staff.
- Knowledge of school schedules for master schedule and changing student schedules.
- Pursue continuous professional growth.
Knowledge Skills Abilities
- Skill in classroom and counseling services.
- Skill in adhering to safety practices.
- Skill in operating equipment used in a classroom setting including a computer planning and managing projects.
- Skill in preparing and maintaining accurate records and using pertinent software applications.
- Knowledge to perform math read technical information compose a variety of documents and/or facilitate group discussions
- Knowledge to analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions.
- Knowledge of safety practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of stages of child development.
- Ability to schedule activities meetings and/or events gather collate and/or classify data and use jobrelated equipment.
- Ability to be flexible to work with others in a wide variety of circumstances work with data utilizing defined but different processes and operate equipment using standardized methods.
- Ability to work with a diversity of individuals and/or groups work with a variety of data and utilize specific jobrelated equipment.
- Ability to problemsolve analyze issues and create action plans. Problemsolving with data frequently requires independent interpretation of guidelines and problemsolving with equipment is moderate.
- Ability to manage time and responsibilities adapt to changing work priorities communicate with diverse groups maintain confidentiality and meet deadlines and schedules.
- Ability to set priorities work as part of a team and work with and manage frequent interruptions.
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of student matters.
- Ability to effectively communicate with students parents and staff.

- Ability to perform duties with awareness of all District requirements and Board policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in a related field from an accredited university or college.
- Current Montana Educators License.
- Current Endorsement in School Counseling K8 or K12.
Preferred Qualifications
- Successful experience working with middle school students.
- Successful counseling experience in a K12 system.
Necessary special requirements:
- Montana Drivers license or the ability to obtain license within three months of hire date.
