Job Description
A5 Talent Finders is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant to join our Oil and Gas client in Houston TX. As a fulltime Direct Hire) member of the accounting department you will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of our company. We are looking for a candidate who has a Bachelors Degree or equivalent and at least 57 years of experience in accounts receivable with a strong background in the construction industry.
As an Accountant you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounts receivable including billing collections and job cost accounting. You must have a deep understanding of construction billing methods particularly AIA G702/G703 forms and be familiar with retainage change orders lien releases and job cost accounting. Your experience in a construction environment will be essential in ensuring accurate and timely billing and collections.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of functional experience and a strong understanding of project accounting. You must be detailoriented organized and able to work independently. Strong communication and analytical skills are also necessary to succeed in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of accounts receivable including billing collections and job cost accounting
Ensure timely and accurate billing according to contract terms and AIA G702/G703 forms
Monitor and track retainage change orders and lien releases
Reconcile accounts and resolve any discrepancies
Prepare and analyze financial reports related to accounts receivable
Communicate with clients and internal teams to resolve any billing or collection issues
Assist with monthend and yearend close processes
Stay updated on industry changes and regulations related to construction billing and accounting
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent in accounting or related field
Minimum of 57 years of experience in accounts receivable with at least 5 years in a construction environment
Strong understanding of construction billing methods especially AIA G702/G703 forms
Familiarity with retainage change orders lien releases and job cost accounting
Experience with project accounting and job costing
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
Excellent communication and analytical skills
Detailoriented and able to work independently
Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
