Job Description
The Business Analyst (BA) works on multiple projects that support the mission of the agency of improving outcomes for Texas students with a focus on the early childhood integrated data system project.
This position performs advanced seniorlevel business analysis work as well as user experience design work to ensure a positive and productive end user experience. The position will ensure design decisions are grounded in user experience and research and adhere to agencywide design standards and industrywide best practices and will partner with the product team and other key stakeholders on design solutions. The business analyst serves as the conduit between the program/customer community and the software development team through which requirements flow.
This BA will be involved at some level throughout the entire software development life cycle. Upon establishment of the requirements baseline the focus is shifted towards the management of the requirements specification and verifying the fulfillment of all requirements including requirements for enhancements postimplementation.
Must demonstrate and excel in communicating and working with a diverse team with collaboration tools competently in a remote work environment. Also must be able to estimate work set deadlines and communicate effectively.

Years Required/Preferred Experience
8 Required Experience eliciting requirements from interviews with customers and creating wellwritten system requirements
8 Required Experience with software development life cycles (SDLCs)
8 Required Business process reengineering and software process flow improvement experience
8 Required Experience developing user stories and use cases that conform to business analysis best practices
8 Required Experience designing mockups and/or wireframes that conform to UX best practices
5 Required Demonstrated strong communication and facilitation skills
5 Required Demonstrated strong writing and organization skills
4 Required Documented experience developing wireframes mockups & prototypes in Figma or comparable design software
3 Required Experience ensuring designs and website conform to federal accessibility guidelines
3 Preferred Documented work experience with the requirements management software Modern Requirements
3 Preferred Documented work experience with the issue tracking software Atlassian Jira
2 Preferred Documented experience working for or closely with TEA or another state or local education agency
1 Preferred Documented work experience in early childhood care and education
The working position is Hybrid.
