Job Description
SVI Trucks builds custom fire apparatus including rescue trucks hazmat units command vehicles fire engines tanker trucks law enforcement vehicles and more. Every truck that leaves the factory is truly oneof akind thanks to innovative engineering and meticulous construction.
We are looking for an energetic selfstarting fabricator for our fabrication finish department of our Truck Division. In this department we prefit and build modules for our custom apparatuss before they get painted.
Essential Functions:Do you love to work with your hands Are you good at problem solving Do you want to help build something that will help first responders If yes then we want you!
The knowledge and ability to effectively use both power tools and hand tools
Ability to read and follow blueprints
General mechanical knowledge
General Mathematical knowledge such as addition and subtraction and ability to understand fractions and decimals
Ability to accurately use and read a tape measure
Good organizational skills
Detail oriented
Learn and apply valuable skills and gain useful knowledge
Drive to learn how to fabricate and weld
Ability to follow instructions explicitly
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Must be able to lift 70 pounds
Kneeling crouching and laying under vehicles is required
Able to obtain a forklift certification
Must be able to climb ladders
Able to take initiative and problem solve
Must be drug free pass a preemployment drug screen physical agility test and a background check
Qualifications:
Welding experience preferred
Any form of carpentry experience preferred
Able to use and read a tape measure
Must be able to adapt and excel in a fastpaced highenergy busy atmosphere.
Quick learner interested in learning a trade or experienced in a trade and looking to expand on knowledge
