POSITION REQUIREMENTS
License or Certification:
Must be in possession of current state license in Speech Language Pathology.
SLP Certificate of Clinical Competencies (CCC) is expected within the first 2 years of employment or as directed by ASHA.
BLS (CPR) required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire within this role.
Minimum Qualifications:
Inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred.
Machines Equipment Used:
Therapy equipment and general office equipment such as computer/laptop telephone copy/fax machine calculator scanner etc.
Microsoft Office software to include Outlook Word and Excel.
Physical Requirements:
Visual acuity speech recognition speech clarity.
Ability to lift lower push pull and retrieve objects weighing a minimum of 30 pounds including medical supplies and equipment and the transferring and repositioning of patients. Reasonable assistance may be requested when lifting pushing and/or pulling are undertaken which exceeds these minimum requirements.
Skills and Abilities:
Oral communication written communication active listening. Must be able to speak and understand English.
Information ordering deductive reasoning social perceptiveness time management critical thinking.
Ability to coordinate analyze observe make decisions and meet deadlines in a detailoriented manner.
Ability to work independently without continuous supervision.

The SpeechLanguage Pathologist fellow provides speechlanguage therapy treatment and patient care under the guidance of the supervising speechlanguage pathologist according to hospital state professional and federal regulations and guidelines. This position requires effective communication skills for working with patients families and caregivers as well as departmental and interdepartmental relationships. This position requires competency in speechlanguage pathology evaluation assessment care planning and treatment. This position requires task delegation and supervision of technicians and assistants (when applicable) and maintains open and ongoing communication with hospital departments to ensure patient staff and hospital needs are met. The SpeechLanguage Pathologist fellow creates an environment and culture that enables the hospital to fulfill its mission by providing patient safety and patientcentered treatment.
