Job Description
We are one of the worlds leading valve manufacturers and supplies conventional and nuclear power plants and the chemical industry with control safety and shutoff valves.
We are looking for an Assistant for our Financial Controller (m/f/d) to join our team !
In this role your responsibilities will be:
- Preparation of monthly financial statements (US GAAP) in cooperation with the Emerson Shared Service Centers.
- Preparation of the annual financial statements in accordance with local GAAP (HGB).
- Lead the annual statutory audit as well as other financial audits (e.g. Internal Audits One Emerson Governance Program).
- Preparation of reports to external authorities (e.g. Deutsche Bundesbank).
- Support quarterly and annual tax inquiries (e.g. transfer pricing documentation).
- Support a strong internal control environment ensuring compliance with SOX as well as Emerson Policies and Procedures.
- Manage or assist projects (currently: new reporting tool).
- Processing of adhoc tasks in accounting if required also in FP&A.

For this role you will need:
- Accounting/Financial/ Economics degree or IHK certification with at least 5 years experience in accounting or related field.
- Expertise in German GAAP (HGB) and ideally basic knowledge of USGAAP .
- Excellent German and English skills both written and spoken.
- Strong Excel skills preferably Power BI skills.
- Experience with SAP FI / CO.
Preferred qualifications that set you apart:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel Word PowerPoint Power BI etc.
- Strong managerial courage assertiveness and ability to work through resistance to change.
