General Description / Primary Purpose:
The Assistant Director University Housing Operations under the direction of the Assistant Vice President of Housing and Residence Life plays an integral role in the design development implementation and interpretation of departmental processes and/or programs for Housing and Residence Life as it relates to Budget and Finance.

Participates on University committees as needed. Perform duties as assigned by Assistant Vice President.
Departmental Requirements:
This position requires a detailoriented customer servicefriendly individual who exhibits a positive attitude and is highly motivated. The ideal candidate/employee will have strong administrative and problemsolving skills in addition to excellent written and oral communication skills. Previous supervisory experience is important for a successful candidate to possess coupled with a working knowledge of accounting and budget management principles.
Supervision Exercised:
Direct supervision of Housing and Residence Life accounting staff members including: Two 2 Senior Accounts Payable Representatives and one 1 Account Payable Associate
Supervision Received:
General guidance and direction. The incumbent established procedures for attaining specific goals and objectives in a broad area of work; contact between employee and supervisor is limited in terms of frequency and matters covered.
Level of Public Contact:
The Assistant Director interacts with all levels of University staff faculty administrators and noncampus groups on matters of departmental services and university related topics. The Assistant Director is available to interact with parents of residents and prospective students.
Monetary Responsibility:
Monitors daily revenue collection and expenditures. Assists the Assistant Vice President with the development and maintenance of a department budget in excess of $25 million dollars.
Policymaking and/or Interpretation:
The Assistant Director interprets and enforces policy in matters related to functional tasks. The Assistant Director as part of the professional staff team of Housing and Residence Life shares in policy decision and interpretations.
Program Direction and Development:
Direct leadership and administration of the Housing and Residence Life auxiliary financial operation.
Statement of Responsibility for Confidential Data:
Has access to student housing records as well as student financial records and is responsible for these records in accordance with all University State and Federal Regulations.
Required Qualifications: This position requires either (a) Masters degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization and two years of experience directly related to the job functions; (b) Bachelors degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization and four years of experience directly related to the job functions; or (c 8 years of direct experience.

The holder of this position is designated as a Responsible Employee pursuant to their role under Title IX. This position has been designated as a CSA because it involves significant responsibility for student and campus activities and/or responsibility for campus security. As such any person in this position must report to the University Police Department a crime or an incident that might be a crime that he/she becomes aware of. This position has a reporting requirement because the University believes that responsibility for students campus activities and/or campus security will make the holder of this position someone members of the University community will see as an authority figure and someone to whom they can seek help. A CSA is not expected to investigate or determine whether a criminal incident actually took place. A CSA s responsibility is a duty to report. All positions designated as CSAs are required to complete an online or in person training session.
