School Nurse Substitute

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Holds a license as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (M.G.L. c. 71 s. 53
  • Has a minimum of two years of supervised nursing experience in community health or child health prior to entry in school nursing practice.
  • Certification in American Heart Association or Red Cross BLS CPR/AED
  • Strong desire to work with students in an urban setting
  • Ability to work effectively with teachers support staff and parents and advocate for children in order to effectively problem solve
  • Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills and ability to work with all stakeholders

DUTIES: To provide professional health services and coordinate the resources of the school home and community as they pertain to the total health of students and staff.

School NurseSubstitutes work as needed during the school yearat a rate of$250 per day.

An offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion of a preemployment physical including a drug test National fingerprintbased Criminal Background Check (NCBC) and Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI).

AllMUSTbe completedPRIORto the start of employment.
