The Family Preservation Therapist provides intensive homebased family services and support including crisis intervention counselling psychoeducation skill building case management and advocacy. The Family Preservation Therapist completes comprehensive assessments develops and implements multifaceted treatment plans and delivers clinical interventions to families. The Family Preservation Therapist also provides 24/7 therapeutic oncall crisis management support.
The Family Preservation Therapist is a key communication link between stakeholders through written reports consults case conferences and daily communication. The Family Preservation Therapist collaborates with community agencies and funding agents to deliver and implement clinical recommendations. The Family Preservation Therapist contributes significantly to a positive therapeutic environment and will be trained in the Homebuilders program delivery model. The treatment with families is collaborative. Family Preservation Therapists host a strengthsbased antioppressive theoretical perspective.
Qualifications:
Education and Professional Certification
- Masters degree in social work or in a related human service field.
Experience
- Minimum one 1 year of experience working with children youth and families and experience providing group and family counselling.
- Experience working independently with diverse populations.

- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to form strong collaborative relationships and professional working alliances.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Services
- Develop individual and family treatment plans and clinical intervention strategies for the participants in collaboration with families internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide clinical oversight and lead the implementation of individual and family treatment plans including all aspects of participation in the treatment program completion of documentation and providing information and feedback to the stakeholders.
- Provide education support and clinical counselling to participants.
- Deliver intensive family individual and couples counselling to the participants.
- Complete risk assessments for family safety child abuse/neglect child welfare domestic violence suicide selfharm mental health environmental safety addictions etc.
- Develop safety plans collaboratively with family members to reduce the identified risks by accessing personal and external resources.
- Assess and respond to suspected or substantiated abuse occurring in families (i.e. emotional sexual physical and neglect). Determine required safety plans and protective interventions.
- Lead planning conferences family consultations/meetings and conferences with health care and other humanservice professionals. Participate in educational conferences and conferences with other stakeholders as required.
- Case plan for holistic aftercare services to best support the families longterm positive functioning and work collaboratively with families and community agencies to implement.
- Communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including community funding and referring agencies.
- Attend clinical appointments with participants when required.
- Provide 24/7 therapeutic oncall crisis management support to participants.
- Provide oversight and influence related to the therapeutic milieu of the treatment program providing employee training or education sessions when required.
- Provide postcrisis support to participants and direct clinical followup as appropriate.
- Complete reports and other required casework documentation in a clear accurate and timely manner. Disseminate important information to families and referring agencies in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Leadership
- Set the direction for the treatment program by integrating quality improvement initiatives and encouraging reflective practice.
- Share specialized knowledge with the treatment team and provide professional consultation and training to assist with the professional development of the team members.
- Lead and delegate program staff in delivering clinical services to participants based on service plans and crisis management.
- Share effective treatment interventions with relevant community agencies and professionals involved in a familys treatment as well as support in aftercare planning and delivery.
Management of Resources
- Manage and evaluate specialized or adjunct therapies and clinical resources within an allocated budget.
- Coordinate and collaborate with community resources when required.
- Ensure fiscal responsibility to the agency by projecting possible participant needs and working within the monthly budget.
- Provide input into budgets for special needs events or education sessions.
Safety
- Maintain promote and reinforce safe work habits practices and procedures.
- Adhere to written or verbal agency and government regulations policies practices and instructions.
Additional Requirements
The incumbent is responsible for completing all mandatory training requirements for the position as per agency policy and guidelines.
Employees must hold a class five 5 novice two 2 or higher drivers license and be eligible for coverage under our commercial auto insurance policy.
The incumbent must be registered with an accredited professional association or body.

We offer a competitive salary of $81203 to $104977 for masters degree and $68785 to $88899 for bachelors degree.
