Job Description Summary:
A Senior Communications Engineer is responsible for the design development and testing of radio frequency (RF) and communications systems. This engineer is expected to demonstrate strong understanding of RF Digital Signal Processing algorithms and Communications. Also they should have the ability to troubleshoot and solve complex RF or Communications problems. The role requires excellent communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary groups including software hardware and material engineering.Job Description:
Duties/Responsibilities
Design and implement DSP algorithms.
Knowledge of wireless communication theory and systems.
Experience with Software Defined Radios (SDR)
Manage complex engineering projects in a fastpaced environment.
Develop and maintain effective internal/external relationships.
Use standard laboratory instrumentation for validation and troubleshooting.
Drive solutions to complex problems with limited direction contribute to requirements development propose ways forward and adapt appropriately to changes in requirements.
Perform analysis and modeling of complex radio frequency systems
Contribute to customer presentations.
Able to provide insight and suggest design modifications based on analysis outcomes and to apply analysis techniques across a range of technical disciplines.
Identify program/systemlevel technical risks and develop and execute mitigation strategies.
Expertise in using DSP and SDR software and hardware tools.
Actively mentor less experienced engineers and provide thoughtful constructive feedback
Ability to lead a team of engineers
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Skills/Abilities
Very experienced with Ettus USRPs UHD GNURadio RFNoC
Very experienced with handson test/measurement to validate the performance of SDRs or general transceivers
Knowledge of DSP algorithms design and implementation
Experience with digital communication systems PHY layer topics channel coding algorithms and modulation theory
Proficient with MATLAB and/or Python and/or C
Excellent mathematical skills.
Strong problem solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability and willing to work in highly collaborative team environment.
Excellent management and organizational skills: proven ability to meet deadlines task prioritization and attention to details.
Education
Requires bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Masters degree preferred.
Experience
Requires 57 years experience in Radio Frequency or Communications Engineering or related.
