Job Summary:
The High School ELAR Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and rigorous instruction in English Language Arts and Reading fostering a love for literature and effective communication. The teacher will develop lesson plans aligned with state standards assess student progress and support students in developing strong reading writing speaking and critical thinking skills.
Instruction & Curriculum Development:
- Plan and implement engaging lessons aligned with state and district curriculum standards.
- Teach literature composition grammar vocabulary and analytical writing skills.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies including differentiated instruction discussionbased learning and projectbased assessments.
- Integrate technology and multimedia resources to enhance student learning.
Assessment & Student Progress Monitoring:
- Develop and administer formative and summative assessments to measure student understanding.
- Analyze student performance data to guide instruction and improve outcomes.
- Provide timely feedback to students and communicate progress with parents and administration.
Classroom Management & Student Engagement:
- Foster a positive respectful and inclusive learning environment.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies to promote student engagement and success.
- Encourage student participation through discussions presentations and collaborative projects.
Collaboration & Professional Growth:
- Work closely with colleagues administrators and parents to support student achievement.
- Participate in professional learning communities workshops and ongoing professional development.
- Stay informed about current best practices literary trends and state assessment requirements.
- Engage in school activities committees and extracurricular programs as needed.
Work Environment & Expectations:
- Fulltime position following the school districts academic calendar.
- Must be able to stand walk and engage actively with students throughout the school day.
