Job Description

Description

Responsible for performing delegated activities to support the entire operations of CSPD. Duties are performed under the supervision of the CSPD Team Leaders and Manager and in collaboration with the instrument technicians. Responsibilities include: Decontamination of surgical instruments and equipment assisting with loading and unloading instruments and trays to and from the washer disinfector and cart washer respectively assists with case cart assembly transportation of sterilized items to the operating room for storage or patient use restocking sterile storage areas breaks down shipping and delivery boxes in the department.

*This position provides an introduction to Sterile Processing and may result in the opportunity to advance into Instrument Processing 101 training based on performance.



Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Basic computer knowledge.
Good interpersonal skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and the ability to receive and give constructive feedback.
Good verbal and written communication skills being concise by phone and in person.
One year of instrumentation experience in a hospital setting or Certificate of Completion in Hospital Central Service Technology from an accredited educational institution is preferred but not required.
