Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to provide Occupational Therapy assessment evaluation andtreatment services to forensic psychiatric patients at Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board ofOccupational Therapy Practice under the licensing requirements for OccupationalTherapists.

Experience: One year of experience as an Occupational Therapist.

Note:Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces militaryservice experience as a commissioned officer in Therapy classifications orTherapy specialty codes in the Occupation Therapy field of work on ayearforyear basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess the following:
  • Experience working in the mental health setting and/or with individuals with psychiatric conditions
  • Experience in working collaboratively with a diverse team of health professionals
  • Familiarity with the creation and implementation of therapeutic groups/interventions

LICENSES REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Candidates for positions in this classification must possess acurrent license as an Occupational Therapist from the Maryland State Board ofOccupational Therapy Practice Spring Grove Hospital Center 55 Wade AvenueBaltimore MD 21228.

2. Employees in this classification may be required tosuccessfully complete and maintain current certification of cardiopulmonaryresuscitation training.

3. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties whichrequire the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties willbe required to possess a motor vehicle operators license valid in the State ofMaryland.

SELECTION PROCESS

Applicants who meet the minimum (and selective) qualifications will be included in further evaluation. The evaluation may be a rating of your application based on your education training and experience as they relate to the requirements of the it is essential that you provide complete and accurate information on your report all related education experience dates and hours of indicate your college degree and major on your application if applicable. For education obtained outside the U.S. any job offer will be contingent on the candidate providing an evaluation for equivalency by a foreign credential evaluation service prior to starting employment (and may be requested prior to interview).
