Lead Project QC Supervisor
Location: Midland Texas
Reports To: QA/QC Manager
Salary Range: $35$50/hour
Incentive Compensation: Semiannual bonuses
Per Diem:No per diem; no travel
Work Week:Approximately 5060 hours per week
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detailoriented Lead Project QC Supervisor Final Inspection to oversee and coordinate all final inspection activities at our fabrication facility. This role ensures that all pressure vessels tanks and associated components meet client specifications industry codes and internal quality standards before beingreleased for shipment or delivery.
Key criteria:
We are looking for someone with API 510 certification Ultrasonic Thickness level II Magnetic Particle level Liquid Penetrant level II with experience performing in the field. Experience in ASNTTC1A magnetic particle liquid penetrant ultrasonic thickness and radiographic inspections.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and verify compliance with applicable codes (ASME API etc. customer specifications and internal procedures.
- Lead and manage the final inspection team ensuring all fabricated vessels and tanks meet quality requirements.
- Conduct and oversee final visual and dimensional inspections of welded assemblies components and finished products.
- Collaborate with welding fabrication NDE and engineering teams to resolve nonconformances and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Ensure final inspection documentation including test reports certifications and release packages is accurate and complete.
- Coordinate with thirdparty inspectors customers and regulatory agencies for witness inspections and signoffs.
- Mentor and train junior inspectors and promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
- Support audits quality meetings and client walkthroughs as needed.
- Maintain inspection tools and ensure calibration and equipment readiness.
- Drive compliance with safety protocols and promote safe work practices in all inspection activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education: High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification in QA/QC Welding Inspection or a related field preferred
Experience: Minimum of 810 years of experience in quality control/inspection in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) required.
- Strong knowledge of ASME Section VIII API 650/620 AWS D1.1 and other relevant codes and standards.
- Familiarity with NDE methods (VT PT MT RT UT) and interpreting results.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings P&IDs WPS and customer specifications.
- Strong leadership communication and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality management systems (QMS) software.

Work Environment:
- Work is performed in a fabrication shop environment with regular exposure to heat noise and fabrication equipment.
- Requires the use of PPE including safety glasses gloves hard hat and steeltoe boots.
- Standing walking climbing ladders and lifting up to 50 lbs may be required.
