This leadership role is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Professional Coding and Charge Capture Department. This role leads work to ensure that professional services charge capture integrity diagnosis coding CPT coding and documentation standards and processes align to maximize the quality and accuracy of professional services revenue capture. The manager role provides leadership and direction to coding supervisors and leads responsible for recruiting training auditing and developing coding staff and is often called upon as the primary resource to assess coding workflow system functionality optimization and upgrades. Frequent collaboration between hospital billing practice and physician practice plan leaders is expected to promote consistency and alignment in the application of national coding guidelines and rules or reasoned justification and documentation for differences. The role also routinely collaborates with other managers and senior leaders within the revenue cycle and health information integrity departments IT analysts specialty clinic service line leaders billing compliance professionals and others as needed. Functional assignments are fluid and may be reassigned to address business needs.

Required Education and Experience
Bachelors Degree in health services public health social sciences business health informatics accounting or related field or a combination of equivalent post secondary education and prior leadership experience equal to at least five years in a hospital or clinic patient accounts department.
Minimum five years supervisory experience
Required Credentials
Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification
Preferred
Four or more years people leadership experience in coding/health information management in a pediatric specialty hospital or pediatric multispecialty provider setting.
Experience with Epic Experian and 3M charge capture and coding applications.
Compensation Range
$104797.00 $157195.00 per yearSalary Information
This compensation range was calculated based on fulltime employment 2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity skills experience and expertise and may vary within the range provided.
