Job Description

Job Description Summary

The Repairs team leader will lead the repairs team in Rochester responsible for repairing GE communication devices like MDS Orbit Platform (MRC ECR OCR) MDS Master Station etc. This role includes working crossfunctionally and liaising with different teams to ensure smooth running of repair operations. The role also requires to be handson in carrying out repairs on the equipment by doing troubleshooting repairing and testing the unit as per defined procedures ensuring quality is service is delivered to customer.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead the repairs team focusing on SQDC.
  • Support the repairs team with their daytoday activities.
  • Monitor workload and update the Monthly RMA Dashboard for the Rochester site.
  • Support in managing Repairs inventory for Running and Obsolete Products.
  • Support in hiring and planning training of technicians/RMA coordinator when necessary.
  • Coordinate with regional tech support teams.
  • Coordinate with other internal stakeholders in Manufacturing/Level 3 Supports / R&D teams as and when required.
  • Monthly reporting of warranty drivers initial quality as required.
  • Apply lean concepts like 5S standard work to improve the work area procedures and processes.
  • Coordinate with Engineering to relate process improvements for changes in Work Process instructions or product or product changes
  • Test units at component subassembly and system level configurations
  • Complete the testing of both printed circuit boards and radio assemblies
  • Diagnose troubleshoot and isolate faults with electronic and electrooptical assemblies
  • Ability to troubleshoot PCBA to component level
  • Document investigation of PCBA/Radio assemblies to determine failure and what needs to be to remedy the situation.
  • Setup and utilize a variety of test equipment for completion of daily requirements
  • Follow defined procedures for test of assemblies

Required Qualifications

  • Associates degree or Trade School in Electronic Technology or equivalent work experience acceptable

Desired Characteristics

  • Knowledge and experience with Radio Frequency (RF)
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams & engineering drawings
  • Ability to be certified to the latest industry electronic component assembly standards
  • Knowledge of Grid Automation processes
  • Knowledge for Lean methodologies 5S KAIZEN.
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Team leadership skills and experience
  • Excellent trouble shooting and problemsolving skills.

The pay for this position is $20$32/hr. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidates experience education and skill set. This role is eligible for overtime. This posting is expected to close on 5/5/25.

*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110 120 or 130 of salary in certain areas.
