Job Description

Position Overview

Direct and manage the overall the overall program of instrumental music for the campus. Provide students with an opportunity to participate in extracurricular instrumental activities and ensure compliance with all state University Interscholastic League (UIL) and district requirements. Plan activities to achieve district region and state recognition.

Position/Assignment Information: Professional/CertifiedSecondary Level

Grades:912

Desired Qualifications

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelors degree from accredited university
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate


Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Knowledge of overall operation of instrumental music program
  • Ability to manage budget
  • Knowledge of state and UIL policies governing band
  • Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
  • Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills

Duty Days: 210

Salary Schedule:SISD salary schedule
