Major Duties :1. Work directly with clients and senior advisors to develop an advisory relationship and gather information related to clients financial circumstances and goals.
2. Analyze overall personal financial condition including complex retirement plans estate plans investments taxes insurance cash flow cash management and budgets.
3. Determine client financial objectives risk tolerance and capital requirements.
4. Counsel and advise clients on general financial forecasts and trends.
5. Develop a sophisticated goalsbased wealth plan to bring clients financial situation in line with their objectives and consult with client and other advisors (specialists) on a course of action.
6. Facilitate implementation of sophisticated wealth plans based on the direction given by the client.
7. Interact with clients other advisors and other Northern Trust service partners in the delivery of coordinated financial and wealth planning services.
8. Review account relationships and communicate with relationship managers to identify opportunities for crossselling bank products and services.
9. Actively assist in the sales process and the identification of opportunities to expand client relationships.
10. Handle billing for client service hours and maintains individual productivity and contribution records.
11. Contribute to the development and monitoring of best practices in the delivery of financial planning services.
12. Prepare and deliver presentations relating to the ongoing maintenance of client relationships.
13. Develop marketing materials and plans and deliver marketing presentations.
14. Serve as a mentor to Associate Wealth Advisors.
15. Contribute to Northern Trust wealth planning thought leadership including marketing resources.
16. Actively engage in the cultivation of professional advisor relationships including attendance at and participation in professional conferences and professional advisor networks.
17. Operates independently; has indepth knowledge of business unit / function
18. As subject area expert provides comprehensive indepth consulting and leadership to team and partners at a high technical level
19. Carries out activities that are large in scope crossfunctional and technically difficult
20. Role is balanced between high level operational and development and of strategic direction of business function activities
21. Conducts preliminary analysis
22. Responsible for direct interaction with different committees and/or management
23. Strategic in developing implementing and administering programs within functional areas
Knowledge :Knowledge of sophisticated income tax planning retirement planning estate planning investment and asset allocation planning risk management planning and cash flow planning usually acquired through extensive related work experience. CFP designation or equivalent desired. Effective communicator and collaborative professional. Advanced educational and professional designations and evidence of advanced learning and professional qualification including MBA CPA JD CFA and/or CIMA desired.
Experience :710 years in one or more of the stated fields with some consulting experience desired.
Salary Range:
$USDSalary range is a good faith estimate of base pay.
