Gulf Marine Manager Westwego LA
Salary exempt role
Reports to NOLA General Manager

Position Summary:
  • ADM/ARTCo is looking for a Marine Operations Manager to independently manage all parts of the Center Gulf marine operations. This role involves ensuring efficiency managing staff budgets and resources while upholding a high safety standard and adhering to applicable regulations. Tasked with creating and putting into action strategies policies and procedures that improve overall performance. Possesses strong leadership and communication skills capable of effectively managing a leadership team and coordinating well with different departments across various locations. The Marine Operations Manager will be essential in helping the organization achieve its longterm goals and plans.
  • Location in Waggaman LA.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Management/Business (Maritime or related Field a plus)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management
  • Strong leadership communication and people skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Industry experience or education equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of Subchapter M tow boat operations barge fleeting operations and Subchapter T.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications
Job description:
  • Oversee and coordinate vessel schedules and operational coordination.
  • Help in developing and implement operational policies procedures and safety protocols.
  • Manage Vessel Daily Operations and risk management.
  • Manage budgeting cost control and assets allocation for operations.
  • Manage a department budget and ensure financial discipline.
  • Regularly approve all POs for multidepartment spend.
  • Analyze budget and expenditures.
  • Analyze potential business opportunities for growth.
  • Implement improvements to workflow to improve efficiency.
  • Lead in R&D initiatives.
  • Set goals expectations and mentor direct reports.
  • Monitor and ensure vessel and fleet compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with local internal departments to optimize operations.
  • Collaborate with Port Engineers scheduling and organizing vessel dry dock and maintenance.
  • Oversee vessel staffing communicating areas of accountability and performance expectations conducting employee evaluations and promotions transfers and dismissals and employee training.
  • Lead emergency marine response planning and reporting.
  • Manage/Investigate injuries and marine incidents.
  • Report incidents to TPO and USCG as required.
  • Manage all regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Engage in best practices and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Continuously addressing task or action items that arise from incidents or near misses.
  • Participate and represent ARTCo/ADM at various industry functions and events.
  • Align and lead company environmental standards.
  • Assist the Company in any necessary duties to achieve Company goals.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including market location jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Hourly and salaried nonexempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
