Position:World History Instructor Classroom) Secondary Summer School

Reports to: Site Principal Secondary Summer School

Supervises: None

Qualifications:

1. Hold a valid Oklahoma teacher certificate.
2. Meet all certification requirements including teaching area endorsement in the State of Oklahoma.
3. Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.
4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the School Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Position Goal: To lead students toward the fulfillment of their potential by translating the district curriculum goals and objectives into learning experiences for each student.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

1. Plans for and executes instructional strategies that encourage the development of critical thinking problem solving and performance skills relating to short and longterm objectives.
2. Develops instructional plans that are in alignment with state standards and JPS standards and objectives.
3. Uses pacing guides and primary sources consistent with district expectations.
4. Plans consistently to address students diverse learning needs.
5. Plans for flexible groupings which allow for differentiated instruction.
6. Prepares materials and equipment prior to the start of the lesson.
7. Establishes a classroom climate where students are engaged and expectations are clear.
8. Monitors the behavior of all students during work time as well as transitions to breaks and school dismissal times.
9. Maintains student dignity when discussing misbehaviors.
10. Follows the procedures practices and guidelines outlined by the school district state and federal laws intended to keep students healthy and safe.
11. Develops lesson plans based on student data.
12. Plans with other members of the team and contributes to team meetings in meaningful ways.
13. Maintains substitute plans that include class rosters seating charts behavior plans emergency plans and identification of diverse learning groups.
14. Uses assessments to evaluate student learning and groups students flexibly according to data obtained.
15. Provides timely feedback from assessments to students.
16. Conveys a positive view of learning to students on a consistent basis.
17. Embeds literacy into lessons.
18. Embeds mathematical practices and science process skills daily into lessons.
19. Participates in learning opportunities to understand current state standards.
20. Uses higher level questioning techniques and scaffolds questioning when necessary.
21. Engages students in active learning and uses a variety of strategies to support learning.
22. Weaves technology throughout lessons on a regular basis.
23. Gives clear and concise directions and models the desired skill before students attempt independent practice.
24. Monitors students independent practice by moving about the room.
25. Adjust lessons based on daily feedback from student assessment.
26. Connects current learning to prior learning.
27. Accommodates and modifies for specific populations of students (SPED ELD Gifted).
28. Participates in professional development.
29. Exhibits consistent reliabilitybased patterns of behavior (punctuality dependability complying with timelines and deadlines).
30. Interacts with students colleagues and families in a positive and professional manner.
31. Finds ways to contribute to the profession.
32. Contributes to collaboration constructively.
33. Performs other duties as assigned.

Employment Terms: May 28 2025 June 30 2025; 5days per week at 5.5 hours 1st & 2nd semesters; Community Education Temporary Contract

Compensation:$1787.50 1730 students) $60.00 additional student per half credit
