The New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) Division of Epidemiologys Bureau of Surveillance and Data Systems is charged to maintain and enhance the statewide Communicable Disease Electronic Surveillance System (CDESS). This is a mission critical electronic system to effectively monitor and respond to over 75 reportable diseases and to other public health emergencies and inform statewide policy decisions. The Software Developers tasks will include the following:
Program in the full range of Java EE web technologies configure and support files required for the development of CDESS surveillance system focusing on Hepatitis and STD related modules.
Participate in system design meetings implement user requirements in the form of business rules use cases and web page mockups.
Performunitandregressiontestingscripts.
Providesystemtechnicaldocumentation.
Designdatalogicandphysicalmodels.
Gather data migration rules and perform data migration.
Manage tasks assigned to programmers within the project team.

7 years of experience in using WebLogic application server.
7 years of experience using one or more framework (Spring/myBatis are preferred.
7 years of experience in the design implementation and deployment of Java SE JDBC Java Servlets and JavaScript with relational database model applications.
7 years of experience with relational database and SQL.
7 years of experience in system design and system specification documentation.
7 years of experience in using web services.
7 years of experience working with Javabased serviceoriented architecture.
7 years of experience in unit testing framework and CVS source code control.
