Job Description

Position:Library Supervisory/Clerical Aide

Building:High School

Educational Requirements:The requirements for this position are a minimum of a high school of or experience of routines related to a library are preferred but not required.

Basic Function:The Library Clerical/Supervisory Aide works in the building library setting helping to maintain the operations of the library and providing assistance/supervision for students and assistance to staff. This individual may also perform supervisory duties as assigned to support the daytoday noninstructional activities in each building such as student cafeteria recess bus arrival/dismissal duties and monitoring hallways or exit areas before/after school.

Terms of Employment:The Library Clerical/Supervisory Aide will work Student Calendar Days 180. This position is one that is encompassed in the Support Staff Handbook and is not eligible for membership in any collective bargaining unit. This position reports to and is evaluated annually by the Principal in the building where assigned.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:The Library Clerical /Supervisory Aide must be an individual who exhibits strong organizational skills has the ability to coordinate and complete multiple tasks within specific time frames. This individual must possess strong oral and written communication skills as well as a professional and pleasant demeanor in all personal interactions. The Library Clerical/Supervisory Aide should possess compassion and empathy for students as well as a high level of social sensitivity and clear understanding of the need for confidentiality in all communications.
