Johns Hopkins Community Physicians is looking for aCoding Educatorto join the Coding Education Team. Under the direction of the Risk Adjustment and Coding Manager the Coding Educator is responsible for the development and delivery of coding education materials related to provider coding documentation and billing guidelines/regulations and regulatory compliance. The educator conducts training for providers coding team and auditors and other applicable personnel on coding guidelines federal/state laws and regulatory requirements to improve the quality of documentation to ensure quality performance and representation of care provided. The training will be conducted through inperson and/or virtual communications network publications electronic or voice communications. The educator is responsible for providing continuing coding education and annual regulatory updates. The position requires a close working relationship with providers practice staff compliance and revenue cycle team members. Extensive knowledge of government regulations and applicable reimbursement laws and regulations is required.

Location: 6225 Smith Ave. Baltimore MD 21209 This position is Hybrid in the State of Maryland.

Shift Exempt Fulltime 40 hours per week

Requirements:

  • Minimum Associates Degree in healthcare or business related field or work experience equivalent to two years of Medical Coding Instructor experience for one year of education experience i.e. 4 years required.

  • Work requiresA minimum of 10 years direct experience in coding documentation and reimbursement. A minimum of 5 years of experience ininstructional educational experience training provider small and large auditing and strong education/training background in coding reimbursement and provider education required.

  • The candidate must be certified in professional coding as demonstrated by either Certified Professional Coder (CPC from AAPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS from AHIMA).

Salary Range: Minimum28.05per hour Maximum46.31per will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
