The Childrens Center for Communication and Beverly School for the Deaf (CCCBSD) is seeking a substitute highly qualified registered nurse (RN) to join our current team of nurses including our director of nursing. Located in Beverly Massachusetts CCCBSD is a therapeutic educational program serving students ages 3 to 22 with communication developmental sensory medical and physical challenges.
School nurse candidates should have a strong pediatric background and an understanding of children with a range of complex medical needs. Ability to work and collaborate as a team and in a private school setting is critical.
CCCBSD subnurse duties include medication administration treatment of students and staff for acute illness and/or injuries maintaining appropriate documentation of medications administered and office visits in the comprehensive school records system communicating with parents via text call email or in person as appropriate and activating Emergency Action Plans or any other necessary emergency response if needed.
CCCBSD nurses provide primary support in the areas of: feeding protocols (tube feeding) faculty training on student medical care response to medical emergencies and supporting privateduty nurses.
In supporting the overall health and safety needs of our school community the CCCBSD medical team is charged with establishing strong communication and positive relationships with students parents and all school staff/faculty .
This perdiem position falls under the leadership of a highly skilled and knowledgeable director of nursing. Our nursing team seeks a substitute nurse who can be oncall as needed. School hours are 7:45am3:15pm with a competitive hourly rate provided.
