The Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky is a 427bed nursing home facility with multiple levels of care and multiple shifts available.

Unless otherwise required by legislation or union contract starting salary will be set at the lowest rate of the salary range with gradual increases after completing probation and following successful annual performance evaluations.
The final applicant selected for this position may be required to submit to urinalysis prior to an appointment to test for illegal drug use. The State will decline to extend a final offer of employment to any applicant with a verified positive test result. Also an applicant with a positive test result will not be considered for any position with the State of Ohio for a period of one year (not applicable to current state employees).
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal records check as required by Section 3721.121 of the Ohio Revised Code. Applicants who have been convicted of or pleaded guilty to any of the offenses listed in 3721.121 (C)1(a) may be excluded from consideration.
In accordance with the Ohio Revised Code Section 125.151 (B) all employees whose employment commenced on or after June 5 2002 and is paid by a warrant issued by the Auditor ofState must have his or her compensation directly deposited in the institution of their choice.

Week 1: SundayThursdayFriday

The schedule/hours are flexible based on scheduled activities and trips per needs of residents and the Dom Activities Department
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assists higherlevel activity therapists in implementation of activity therapy.
- Monitors residents participating in activity therapy & recreational activities.
- Provides an environment that promotes resident socialization & interaction.
- Escorts &/or transports residents to & from activities & provides assistance to volunteers transporting residents.
- Maintains records of attendance &/or participation for Activity Plan of Care as well as other required activity therapy records; documents residents progress.
- Attends staff meetings to provide input regarding resident participation.
